Prayer Needs of the Evangelical Free Church of Keokuk
March, 2010
Please pray for the following requests at least once per week
Mission Trip: The church is planning a short term mission trip to an Appalachian area of our country. Pray for those who will be going on the trip and for all the necessary planning and logistics. Pray for a fruitful venture.
Evangelism: Continue to ask the Lord for our people to grasp the vision of being missionaries wherever God has placed us. Play for the possibility of at least one evangelistic Bible study to begin this spring. Pray for the Lord to send “seekers” to our church, that they might find the Lord.
Adult Bible Fellowship: Praise the Lord for exciting developments in our Adult Bible Fellowship Sunday School classes, including numerical growth and discussion of a new small group starting out of one of the classes. Pray for the effectiveness of the new adult class that started last month on the “Basics of the Faith”.
Children’s Programs: Pray for the growth of our children’s programs which include Sunday School, children’s church, and Awana. Pray that parents will support the programs by having their children attend. Pray for our children to grow in their commitment to Christ through these ministries.
Discipleship: There are several weekly discipleship groups which take place through our church including the Saturday morning men’s group, a new group for younger ladies, the “Basics of the Faith” class mentioned previously, and a Sunday evening group for teens. Pray that God will bring much growth through these groups.
Worship: Pray for all elements of our Sunday Worship services, including the planning, the preparation, the preaching, music, ushers & greeters, attendance etc. Pray for us to sense the Lord’s presence.
Addicts Victorious: Ask the Lord to bring to the Thursday evening meetings, those he wants to be present. Pray for healing and deliverance and for commitments to be made to Christ. Pray for those who have drifted away from the program and who are not doing well with their addictions.
Finances: Praise the Lord that he does supply our every need. Ask for His continued supply in helping us meet all of our financial obligations. Pray that all will give according to the Lord’s instructions as found in His Word.
Community and Nation: Pray for spiritual and economic renewal. Pray for those who lead and represent us that they might live with integrity and that they might have wisdom in decision making. Pray for peace and for protection from terrorist attacks.
Missions: Thank the Lord for the missionaries that our church supports. Pray that the Lord will protect them and provide for their every need. Pray that God will bless their work and that they will be greatly encouraged.
Love and Unity: Continue to pray for the Lord to protect our church from division and strife. Ask God to help our church to excel in love.
Youth Ministry: Thank the Lord for the young people who attend our weekly programs. Because many of these young people come from broken and/or un-churched homes many have not truly committed their lives to Christ. Pray for a spiritual breakthrough and for changed lives. Pray also for some teens that come to church but are not involved in youth group or Sunday School. Pray for their involvement and commitment.
Prayer: Continue to ask the Lord for our prayer base to be increased. Ask for more intercessors. Pray that God will teach us more about prayer and that He will encourage us in the area of intercession.
Poor and Needy: Pray for God’s Way Christian Center and our involvement with their ministry. Pray for more people to help Lowell Russell with the construction work that needs to be done on the homeless shelters. Pray that we will remember those in Haiti who are suffering because of the earthquake as well as the local needy that God sends across our path.
Building: Our church is used by many outside groups and individuals. For example, the gym is used by school and community organizations. The food pantry serves many from our community. Pray that God will use these services to bring people to the Savior.
Church Family: Pray for those with special needs. Remember our pastors & their families, & our church leaders.
